Summary Report:
This year competition was endorsed by World Association of Chefs Societies as an WACS Approved Regional Culinary Competition with 47 teams (17 Professional & 30 Student) turn up for Battle! There were 3 oversea teams, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand. The rest was from north to south of Malaysia. I noticed that there was a trend of only ladies teams; at least there were 6 of them!

Event: FOODSTOP

A unique 1-stop Culinary Competition with Health & Wellness Exhibition

Date:  4-6 June 2010 

Time: 10.00am - 9.00pm

Venue: D’Piazza Lifestyle Mall, Bayan Baru, Penang

v 1.2 km Penang Famous Mouth Watering Street Hawker’s Delight

v 4^th Penang Chefs Challenge

Ø A Team Live Cooking Competition (4 Chefs each team)

              - Open to Professional & Student Category

Ø In line with the concept of Iron Chef and Mystery Basket (Very unique - one of it kind in the world, toughest yet so far)

Ø Each team have to prepare a 4 course menu (Appetizer, Soup, Main Course and Dessert) of their choice for 4 persons in 90 minutes

Ø Teams will be provided with 2 protein items on the spot before the start of competition, each round and a big spread of vegetables and dry ingredients

Ø Teams also required to use a Secret Ingredient in 2 of it’s course

¨     More than 160 chefs (40 teams) participated including 6 overseas team (Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore & Thailand)

¨     Winner: 1^st Germany, 2^nd Hong Kong, 3^rd Singapore

Ø This year PCC had being endorsed by World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) as a “Regional Culinary Competition”

Ø Over Rm11000 in cash, medals and trophy will be given out

Ø Confirm participants - South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia and tentative coming USA, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippine, Australia
