Chef Johari comes with more than 20 years of working experience, trading his culinary skills in various International Hotels in Penang and around Malaysia. He is currently attached to Royal Hotel in Penang as their Malay Chef.
A Penang born Chef specialized in Malay Cuisine. His repertoire includes Authentic Penang Nasi Kandar dishes such as Daging Rendang Tok, Ayam Masak Kicap Madu, Kari Kepala Ikan Merah, Acar Awak and Pasembur to name a few. Chef Johari had had the opportunity to serve many Royalties and Dignitaries along his career path. His high standard Authentic Malay Cuisine had set a benchmark for others to follow.
Chef Johari constant strives for excellent coupled with his humble and sober character, made him a well sort after chef by many hotels on the island.
Chefs Association of Malaysia, Penang Chapter had entrusted Chef Johari, in many Penang Food Promotions in other states of Malaysia and Singapore. Chef Johari had performed his duties without fail and bringing great glory to the state, association and himself.
